Hey,I was locked out of Facebook for a couple of weeks or so. My phone had broken and I had to get it repaired just enough to wake up and approve my login from the new device. And guess what’s one of the first things I found out? Another indie creator in my extended circle had been kicked out by Facebook! It’s getting more and more ridiculous everyday. Our poor friend basically got accused for “spamming” by the Zuck-bots. And there’s no way they can complain or contest the “judgement”.It’s insane! But it’s the harsh reality of modern Web and Social Media. You’re basically running your entire show on somebody else’s ground. And you’re at the mercy of their whims, wishes and algorithms. You have a great community of engaged friends and followers one day, and you’re kicked out the next. This is the place where dreams go to die. It really pissed me off. And made my resolve even stronger. We created Dastaan World Magazine to help independent creators thrive. And yet, there was a time when social media failed me. Because I was making the same mistakes. I had to watch my team leave, pause my magazine, and go back to the drawing board to figure out what the hell was going wrong? And what I discovered is beyond belief. Because the so-called experts of marketing and social media are more interested in making themselves look good than in helping independent creators like us promote our work. The system is broken! But there are ways to make it work. And, ironically, the people who actually know how to make it work are not usually found on social media!Anyway, I will now be sharing what I have found out and what’s actually working now in the upcoming issues of Dastaan World Magazine. Yes, I’m bringing it back. It’s gonna be in print, and it’s not gonna be cheap. Because, let’s face it: How many of the free and low-cost publications we all knew are still around? It might sound harsh, but I’m not calling anyone out. Dastaan World Magazine itself was a casualty of this broken model. So if we bring it back again, we do it right this time. And we make sure that we all create awesomeness and prosper together. I’ll be relaunching Dastaan World Magazine in this new format very soon. So hit reply and let me know if you’re interested. I plan to keep it more exclusive this time. Only serious creators committed to success.- Shakaib Feroz.
