DearÂ
(Reply with your name
right now
if anything other than your name appears here for some weird reason. Let's beat the machines at their own game!)
Happy Leap Day. It's the 29th day of February. The rare thing we get every four years. And the super fun (or annoying) thing for those of us born on this day, Were you born on the 29th of February?Â
If yes, I wish you a very happy birthday on behalf of Dastaan World. Did you know you have a 1 in 1,461 chance of being born on a leap day? You rare species!
here are a few more fun Leap Day facts:
There are about 4 million Leap Day babies in the world.Â
Leap Day babies are also called Leapers or Leaplings! (It sounds creepy though. I'd rather just call you *|FNAME|* ... everyone's happier that way.)
There once was a February 30th too. The year was 1712 and the country was Sweden. There was also a February 30th in the Soviet Union in 1930 and 1931. All these cases were either the compensation for a confusion, or the cause of a confusion. In the end, no one ever seemed to like a February that lasted more than 29 days.
There's a tradition of women proposing marriage on a leap day. And it's not just any proposal. It's a Godfather Proposal. An offer a man cannot refuse. The man is supposed to accept the proposal or to pay a fine. Yes! :)
People born on a leap day are believed to be gifted.
So let me know what your birthday is, and I'll remember you in my thoughts and best wishes on your birthday. (Not that I don't remember you otherwise, lol.)Â
Also, did you get a chance to see
?Â
Aditya is pretty much the uncrowned king of drabbles. He has contributed some intense 100-word stories to several issues of our magazine.
Do check it out. Get your

Oh, and I completely forgot to mention that my wife and I had the pleasure of illustrating this twisted, little book. That's yet another reason for you to get your hands on it asap.
Get the Kindle before the paperback comes out and everyone and their cousin get their greedy ol' paws on it. You can then look down at those peasants and tell them "I had this awesomeness before anyone even knew it existed."
So drop everything and grab it right now.Â
Much Love,
Shakaib.
P.S. You can grab
for just $19. Otherwise, they sell for $3 per issue, which puts the value of the bundle at $30 at least. Many of our readers tell us the issues are worth much more than that.
