Here’s something that I wrote in a comment to a LinkedIn post. And obviously, I couldn’t keep myself from sharing the thought with you. (Repurposing with a purpose!)

Anyway, so this brilliant illustrator had recently shared about her first 10k month. And she got some hate for it in the comments section. So, as any self-respecting content creator, she wrote another post in response, explaining why her post was ok. And her post started with something like, “money can’t buy happiness, but it sure looks like it does,” along with some gorgeous pictures of a family vacation.

I liked her post, I felt very happy for her success, and I wrote this in my comment:

Absolutely love this!

Lack of money can’t buy happiness either. Let’s remind the world of this fact too.

I count my blessings every time when I’m having a leisurely breakfast, taking a leisurely walk in the evening, taking my family out in the midday on a weekday (the uncrowdedness of public spaces on weekdays is gold) … Freedom is probably a way bigger perk of being your own boss than just money.

So, more power to you, my friend!

As the holy book of 1.2 billion people on earth says, “So how many blessings of your Lord will you deny?”

Let’s count our blessings. And let’s call the world to freedom. On their own terms.

Cheers!

P.S. And please, you never need to apologize for or explain your $10k months. May they grow into $100k months.

And the thought kind of stuck in my mind. How often do we push away our blessings by not acknowledging them? And by dwelling on the complaints and challenges we face in life.

But more on that later. Right now, I’m sitting in one of my favorite libraries of Dubai, intent on finalizing an upcoming issue of Dastaan World Magzine (fingers crossed), fighting the challenges (internal and external), and keeping on keeping on.

Oh, and reminding myself that waking up late, on my own convenience, choosing my own work hours, work environment, and work itself is a huge blessing in itself. Blessings, actually. Plural!

Anyway, back to the Magazine. It will be out soon. It will be available for a tiny subscription. And the subscription will increase quite a bit in the months to come. But the ones who subscribe at the tiny rate shall be grandfathered on that tiny rate. So keep your eyes on your inbox. And a little bit on your Facebook too.

Meanwhile, go here to get up to speed with the blasts from the past: https://dastaanworld.gumroad.com/l/ErywZ?wanted=true

It’s a bundle of the past 15 issues of Dastaan World Magazine. Chock full of stories, artworks, interviews and articles to fill your mind and heart with inspiration, joy, flow and success. And, of course, it will make you even more prepped up for the coming attractions.

Loads of love, blessings and happiness,

Shakaib Feroz.
