“Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is why so few engage in it.”

Agree? Disagree? While, I’m not the one saying this. It was Henry Ford. I was surprised when I first heard it. Because I always thought I suffered from overthinking. Like, there were times I’d love to decrease the amount of thinking my mind was doing. It was out of control.

But then, I kept thinking and reading about what Henry Ford had said.

And guess what, it turns out that what most of us consider thinking, is just a mechanical and unchecked repetition of past memories and futures worries. It’s like a conditioned or programmed patterned that’s just running over and over and over.

That’s not thinking. Not deliberate thinking, at least.

There was another overachiever, I can’t recall the name right now, who said something like he spent one hour a day thinking. Everyday. That was his secret to success.

From what I’ve understood is that these guess are referring to deliberate thinking. With a goal in mind. With a problem to solve. And most of it involves generating ideas.

So that’s one of the most fruitful things we can do. If we just sit down every day for an hour. Or even less. With a specific goal to solve a specific problem. And generate as many ideas as we can. It might change the entire trajectory of your career, your business, and your life.

And no, ChatGPT can’t do this for you. It’s intelligence is still artificial.

You gotta exercise your own brain cells. And your own subconscious mind.
